When you believe of fasting, what concerns your mind? To most folks, fasting ways to stop eating for an amount of time. The truth is, we do not need to stop consuming at all when we quickly, as in fact there are various methods to fast.I believe we should quickly as a method to offer up something of ourselves to become better to God, or as a way to show respect to him, by putting our fleshly wants behind us, in a sense by fasting, we are crucifying the flesh.If we state we are fasting for a day, and we do not eat, and then the next day gets here and our fast has ended, what have we done due to the fact that of our fasting? Most folks have done nothing however, stopped consuming, and hoped that God appreciates it.I believe when we fast, the most crucial feature of any quick is time, and what we do during that time. It is not that important that we stop consuming for one meal or even an entire day, but what is actually essential is, what are we finishing with the time that we would typically spend eating? If we quick by not consuming strong food for one entire day, and if we normally eat 3 meals in a day, how much time are we offering up for our quick? Possibly we take approximately 30 minutes per meal, if so then our daily fast from food is only about an hour and a half.So we have fasted for an hour and a half or so, by not consuming strong food, what have we done to get closer to God, or to show respect to him? The key is, what do we do during the time we invest fasting? If we saw TV, or walked, or took a nap, or cleaned up your house, we have done nothing for the Lord, by fasting.
