Gluten Allergy and Spelt

Gluten Free Diet Plan “;.

Food that is identified “wheat-free” sometimes includes spelt as the primary replacement for wheat flour. If you dislike wheat, can you consume spelt? Maybe. If you have celiac, can you eat spelt? NO!Spelt is related to wheat, although it is not identical to modern wheat. Some individuals who are allergic to wheat may be able to tolerate some spelt, or a great deal of spelt. Personally, I can endure some, but not too much and not too often.Spelt does consist of gluten in it so it is not appropriate for celiacs. So when food is labeled as “wheat-free”, always check for spelt!
